Dr GhouseGuardian of 3 children4 years agoA. the colour of the stool in small babies ranges from light yellow to dark green depending on the type of feeding baby will be taking if it is smelling bad are very water inconsistency otherwise no need to worry

usually it is normal.
in Breastfed babies ,it is caused by imbalance between foremilk and hindmilk.
so feed your child on each breast atleast 20 minutes so he or she can get full fat hindmilk well.
make changes in diet as it might be a reaction to the food.
and in formulafed babies ,it is caused by iron supplements of formula.
so don't worry.
but if a child passes green stool in too much watery or hard like stone consistency with foul smell and mucus then you should consult your pediatrician.
