Q.

our five month old baby is not taking breast feed properly, he hardly takes it for 5 mints per feed and is very unstable while taking feed and gets distracted easily. his birth weight was 3.3 kg and weight at completion of 5 months is 6.2 kg. Is it normal please advise what can be done to improve his weight.

A. Breastfeed Often Nurse your baby every two to three hours and whenever they show signs of hunger. Don't put your baby on an every three- to four-hour feeding schedule like a formula-fed baby. Since breast milk is more easily digested, breastfed babies need to eat more often.
