Q.

one year old boy. i tried many things but still my baby starts crying as soon as he sees any new person,even relatives who he sees every month. he doesnt stay for even an hour at any new place and i am fed up by just being at home with him. how can i help him in his anxiety issues

A. @vaibhav, thanks alot dear. this was very helpful. i will try my best with this. @other answer, sorry doc but i dont think this is a medical issue so not going to take him to a doctor for a basic behaviour issue

A. Hi, I can very well understand this as my daughter had same issues till 16-17 months. This will go with time and you can't do much in this regard. However I think this may help a bit: 1. Identify his favourite toys, cartoons, etc and try to take him to places related to those themes to make him comfortable with other people. 2. Let him mingle with other kids ( if COVID is not an issue at your place) 3. Ask people not to give him alot of attention. this is the biggest issue with these kids. They are very sensitive and get conscious when all of sudden everyone starts playing, laughing etc with him. if it's possible them ask everyone to stay quiet and let him take his time to befriend with others. We followed this alot and it helped my baby to overcome strangers anxiety.

A. This needs evaluation so it would be better to follow the local doctor for proper advice and doctor will guide you accordiniygly regarding this which would be more beneficial so you can follow the advice
