Q.

my two years boy is suffering from fever for last 5 days, after completing clavam bid, doctor prescribed, azithra xl 200 and cetil 125. shall we give him two antibiotics together?

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracgetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamgric acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of appetite less urine output is there .

A. In Most of the cases not to antibiotics are given together if your doctor is advising you to go ahead with it then you may as well but mostly it is not recommended so I think you should take a confirmation with your treating doctor ones
