they are safe if given by registered medical practitioner. do not undertake medicines or medicald procedures not prescribed / guided by the doctor.
take a follow up in few days if it is not improving for need of treatmentx modification

You can give paracetamol to the child and consult an ENT doctor they will help you with the right treatment for tonsils and all the precautions that you need to take during this time because it’s very important that it is treated from the route also you can take a treatment permanently from a homeopathic doctor for tonsils after your child is fine
