Q.

my son is having fever after every 4-5 hours..I gave him paracetamol but fever comes again.he has cough and cold too.showed him to the doctor and doctor prescribed histafree and grilinctus bm.but fever after after every 4-5 hours

A. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the dokhctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

See the fever can last up to 72 hours if the fever does not subside within 72 hours or if it is increasing even after that then it is important for you to go ahead with the further scan with your doctor to figure out as to what could be the issue and according to that the treatment can be changed
