my son is 1 year old and his right side head has some bulge like lump and bigger in size than the left side head near his temple. any pediatrician advice on this. attached the pictures for reference.

A. he is sitting and standing now but still the same bulge near temple above ears and eyes. that's why I concerned

A. thanks doctor. it is actually in the temple area near his eye and ears. that's why I concerned. but he feels no pain.

A. due to pressure on one side of the head during sleeping there is flatness / abnormal shape on that side of the head. no treatment is required for flat head / bumpy head and you will see that by one year to two years of age the flat head will go away as soon as the child begins to sit and later walk. pillows will not help much in this case so do not worry. the bones in the skull are elastic so to give space to the growing brain it takes different shape and when the growth of the brain occurs properly then gradually they will take a normal shape. no need to worry it will improve
