My son (7yo) got this weird red big pimple on is temple.. is this something to worry .. I am not sure if it’s a bug bite or anything else

It is not possible to understand what is triggering the discomfort. So better to get in touch with the paediatrician. Maintain a good personal hygiene routine for the child and follow your doctors advice.
