Q.

My son (1 yr 2 month) old has leg length discrepancy of 1.5 cms. We consulted paediatric orthopaedic doctor and he to wait and watch till 6 yrs and every year do a x-ray for monitoring. Leg length difference may increase further or can remain same. Also my son still has not started walking. Can oil message or any other methods can reduce the difference? Any suggestions or feedback please

A. If your child has one leg that's shorter than the other, he or she has a condition called leg length discrepancy. The difference in length can range from a fraction of an inch up to several inches. The greater the difference in leg length, the more a child must alter his or her normal posture and walking pattern.
