My daughter is 5yr old and now from past 2 weeks sh usually get cough at night at around 3am and after sh drinks water it comes back to normal... due to weather sh have phlegm whc comes out whn sh coughs very rarely.. can I know why this happens at night and y do they get cold n cough very often

night time coughing is very common in allergy cough and cold. it might be related to temperature variations which is occurring around the child and the child is reacting to the changes with mucus formation and coughing. you can go for anti allergic medicines after consulting your doctor andd try to see that the variations in temperature is not drastic during the night time and evening time

Usually the congestion is there in the season because of changing in weather and sometimes it could be just due to dryness in the throat also when you give water the child feels better so I think probably your child could be going through dry cough so kindly consult your doctor for the medication medication would be suggested by them
