Q.

my daughter 3.7 yrs old .. from two days she had fever 103.3 fever Little bit cold and cough.. I took her pediatrician he told viral fever.. when ever she took paracetamol cyrup she will better for 1 and 2 hours, but again she get fever 103.3.. doctor told after three days it will cure .. am worried can I take her once again r wait for one more day? pls suggest me quickly.. doctor gave syrup for three times

A. the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever armpit temperature of hundreds or more is considered as fever to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. higher mediciness (ibugesic / meftal-p) whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
