Q.

my child is getting constipated a lot in these days. I consulted doctor he gave a duphalac syrup. But as soon as I stop giving him syrup within 2 days again his stool hardens. I need to ask you what is the changes in his diet I should do. please help me in this matter. Thank you.

A. Dear mum, Give enough amount and frequency of top food for bulk formation 4 to 5 times a day and at least one Katori per meal It is important to include fibrous food like variety of seasonal vegetables, green leafy vegetables and fruits, carrot cucumber , beetroot, papaya, apple, peach banana, prunes whole fruit is better than fruit juice grated and soaked dry fruits Like black currant , prunes, date , figs, nuts like almond, walnut give whole grains like daliya, whole pulses, beans, sprouts avoid refined grains, biscuits and frequent use of bread breastfeed child for enough fluid intake , also boiled and cooled water intake good fluid intake in form of water buttermilk coconut water encourage at least one hour of outdoor play as physical activity relieves constipation
