your doctor must have given you some antibiotic along with a painkiller. you can give Paracetamol as well as ibugesic for pain which will help in decreasing the pain and tried to give warm food as well as warm water to drink and this will again help in decreasing the pain and it is advisable to take a follow up if you feel that it is not improving
