Q.

My baby is not gaining weight properly. his birth weight i 3.7kg and his age is 4mnths old and his present weight is 5kg only. is it ok? im having enough breast milk nd what food shall i have to give to my baby to gaib weight?

A. for good Growth of the child it is important that the child should get proper nutritional requirement which is very important for the growing child specially iron and vitamin D is required for better growth and cognition . also there is role of other micronutrients. one should ensure that the child should get a proper balanced diet which contains all types of nutrients essential for growth. any kind of infection specially any chronic infection should be ruled out and treated which may hamper the growth otherwise. after 2 years of age you catn give some powder like kids Pro/ proghance jhunior mix in milk twice a day for one or two months.

A. As Off now you have to give breastfeeding only you baby having sufficient amount of breastfeeding but I don’t think so it’s thick enough for a child to gain weight consult your doctor specially a lactation specialist and if needed start giving formula feeding please
