A. mucus in the stool is very common phenomenon. it is usually present due to the throat mucus / thick saliva as well as respiratory secretions which pass on from respiratory tract (parts of nasal cavity , oral cavity and throat) to the gastrointestinal tract by swallowing and then comes out through the anal canal mixed with the stool. it may be present in less quantity during regular times and would be in more quantity during allergy as well as cough and ccold in the child. mucus in the stool is also associated with gastrointestinal infections as a less constipation as well as indigestion. treatment is usually given according to the cause

A. good afternoon it might be an indication of the fact that the child is suffering from cold I would recommend you to try to visit your doctor for the proper examination and use the prescribed medication
