my baby is 3 years old and suffering from fever

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge gbath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessahry to avoid dehydration .

Ankita MehtaMom of a 9 yr 4 m old girl2 years agoA. hi if temperature is 100f or above then you must consult your pediatrician because high fever or fever for more than 3 days indicates infection keep your child well hydrated give decotion of warm water and Tulsi leaves in 2 tbsp quantity every 2 hours
