Q.

My baby is 3 months old... She is sucking her thumb day and night ... I don't know how to stop this habit and I am unable to differentiate whether she is sucking because of hunger... what are there other cues for hunger... Thanks in advance

A. dear It is normal developmental behaviour of baby known as mouthing, Baby's way of exploring things does not mean always baby is hungry if passing urine 6 to 8 times in 24 hours is active alert and gaining adequate weight then feeding is sufficient

A. hello baby being very small it is normal to suck the finger and nothing to worry and just make sure the child is not replacing finger during the feeding time and otherwise it is not a problem and you can slowly distract the child and the child will be all fine
