few days back he used to do 8-9 times potty a day than doctor have suggest me abbott promethazine syrup medicine for 4 days and also cefpodoxime oral suspension Ip 10 drops in a day. can I continue this medicine

it is totally normal for small children less than 6 months of age not to pass stool for 10 days also. 
it is also normal if they are passing stool more than 6 or 7 times perf day. 
if the consistency of the stool is Semi solid to solid there is no need to worry about the frequency as well as the colour (the colour can range from yellow brown green to black) off the stool.
also straining while passing urine and stool is normal.
Do burping for 15 to 20 minutes

In starting few months after birth babies far is stool many times in a day so you should definitely not worry about it at all. Baby should be totally on mother’s milk. Mother’s milk contains all the nutritious baby needs and regular diet so there is no need to give anything else to your baby till six months
