Q.

My baby is 23 months old. she is having 100 fever since yesterday. We have her calpol three times after 6-7 hours of gap. even after calpol her fever is not reducing. is it suggestable to give meftal?

A. The first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having. Give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food. Keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is hafving fever Armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever To body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and shoulfd be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal temperature water. Higher medicines whether required or not will be told by the doctor.
