Q.

My baby is 2 months old and keeps putting his hand in his mouth. Is this normal behavior? when I lay him on my shoulder to burp him, he licks my clothes. Can I give him a pacifier? If yes, which brand would be good?

A. Yes, it’s completely normal for a 2-month-old baby to put their hands in their mouth. This is a natural way for babies to explore and self-soothe. When you burp him on your shoulder and he licks your cloth, it’s also a common behavior as babies use their mouths to learn about the world. Just make sure your hands and cloths are clean to keep him safe. This stage shows he’s developing sensory awareness and comfort habits.
