Q.

My baby completed 4 weeks today. He demands milk very often now, he did not sleep whole last night and was asking for milk back to back. Even after feeding as recommended he was still crying and asking for milk. We gave him formula but after having formula also he was constantly crying, asking for more milk and was not sleepy. We cradled him but all was in vain. When I give him breast milk he keep drinking it for an hour and after that if I remove him he starts crying again and ask for more. What should we do? Infact from last night till this hour all he is crying and asking for feeds only. Pls help

A. you have to give only demand feeding to the child that is whenever the child feels hungry you can give milk to the child and the child will take the milk according to the need and then will leave the milk. if the child is taking more milk you can offer milk in more quantity with intermittent burping . there is no need to to go for hourly feeding pattern. also there is no need to wake up the child from sleep if the weight of the child is within normal limits this will decrease with increasing age of the child
