My baby boy is 18 months old he gives hi fi . Sometimes he responds to his name other times not . When he wants something he shows . But not saying words .

if a child can comprehend well what you say and if he or she make eye contact while talking , then as such no need to worry.
just keep talking with your child more.
get actively involve your self in your child activities.
but don't force your child and don't expect that a child must answer you always.
