Cut foods into different shapes using food cutters to attract the attention of the kid. Give him a bowl and a spoon to eat and let him eat independently. Let him play with the food and let him make a mess. This is how he will learn to eat on his own while touching, playing and finally tasting the food. Praise him even if he manages to finish even a small part of his meal. Offer his favourites along with new foods that you want to introduce in his diet. The family should eat together so that the kid learns healthy eating habits from parents and siblings. Let him be a part of meal preparations such as setting up the table before mealtime or choosing the vegetable to be cooked.
