Q.

My 5.5 month baby had tomato, carrot, beetroot soup(as directed by paediatrician) but next day she had red color poop which was the colour of the soup. Is this fine as I have read that babies should not have red/black color poop?

A. yes. beetroot, tomatoes causes red stool.. Beets contain certain pigments that give them their vibrant and dark purple-red color. These pigments are not absorbed from body, and this is why you can see them in stools. This phenomenon is completely normal and does not cause any health problems.
