My 2.7 yrs old boy is complaining about leg pain last 3 months and occasionally walks on toes saying that his legs are painful. If I massage his legs he says pain is gone within 2 minutes of massaging and after sometime he again says his leg are painful. Is he faking it or is it real? I’m totally worried what could be the reason?

it happens because of muscles strain due to injury at leg or foot ,. nutritional deficiencies or growing pain.

very common at this age
there are multiple causes of limb pain during this age because it can be normal due to growth pain. 
it can also occur due to nutritional deficiency mainly vitamin b12 iron and calcium deficiency.
if there is excessive playful activity by the child during the daytime it is but obvious that during the night time there might be limb pain.
if the limbs are paining without any activity then yes medical examination and treatment will be required
