very rarely it might be associated with nutritional deficiency and most commonly iron deficiency.z
no treatment is required and gradually the white spots will disappear

In true leukonychia, the milky white discoloration is located within the nail plate, and results from the presence of foci of parakeratotic cells within the nail plate.
