A. Hello, please consult the doctor. In the meanwhile, please make sure she drinks adequate water and eats plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

A. Foods that help with constipation are fruits and vegetables with fiber like soaked raisins, musambi, prunes, papaya, pears, figs, apricots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, leafy greens like palak and dill leaves. Soaked garden cress (aliv/aalvi/halim) seeds also can be given in small amounts.  Make sure to feed some of these daily. Give lots of liquids like homemade juices with pulp, soups, coconut water and plain water. Physical activity also helps with getting pressure for potty. Ensure  that child has a balanced diet with lots of different varieties of vegetables and fruits, ghee, curd etc.
