POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. If your one year and eight month old baby has been having diarrhea for five days, it's important to focus on hydration and diet while monitoring her closely. Give her plenty of fluids like ORS (oral rehydration solution), coconut water, rice water, or buttermilk to prevent dehydration. Offer light, easily digestible foods such as khichdi, mashed banana, boiled potatoes, curd, or toast. Avoid juice, sugary drinks, and fried or spicy foods.
If the diarrhea continues beyond a few days, becomes watery with mucus or blood, or is accompanied by fever, vomiting, or signs of dehydration (dry mouth, less urination, sunken eyes), consult a pediatrician immediately. The doctor may recommend stool tests or prescribe medications based on the cause.
