A. there is no problem in using air conditioner for children as well as newborns but the air current should be slightly away . you can keep the temperature at around 28 degree celsius to 30 degree celsius. one way to know whether the child is feeling cold or not would be by touching the palms soles and ears of the child and if they are warm the child is warm and comfortable and if they are cold the child is feeling cold. they are respiratory secretions which is present in the narrow respiratory tract of the child. the sound of ghar... ghar.. is present when air passes over these secretions in the narrow respiratory tract. if the respiratory rate of the child is within normal limits and the child is not having any other complaints do not worry about the sound which is present due to respiratory secretions. if you feel that the child is having some difficulty in breathing you can always give nasal salinex drops in the nasal cavity which will wash away the mucus present in the nasal cavityx as well as the respiratory tract. the problem improve with increasing age of the child when there is broadening of the respiratory tract .
