Some babies feed for shorter duration more frequently and some longer duration. As long as baby is active, alert and passing urine more than 7 times in 24 hours, feeding is sufficient.

Frequent feedings helps stimulate your milk production during the first few weeks. By the time your baby is 1–2 months old, he or she probably will nurse 7–9 times a day.
