Let him or her make a mess and let him or her play with the food and this is how he or she will learn to eat independently while touching, playing and finally tasting the food. Offer different textures of food. Give healthy snacks like steamed vegetable wedges or cut fruits or Cereal bars etc. Limit the consumption of milk and milk products to less than 500 ml per day. Offer colourful foods like palak ki sabzi or methi parantha or beetroot parantha and you can even cut foods into different shapes using food cutters to attract the attention of the kid. Offer foods in colourful plates or bowls and offer drinks in quirky mugs. Avoid distractions during meal times like TV, tablet, mobile phone, laptop etc. Eat meals together with the family so that the kid learns good and healthy eating habits from the parents and the siblings. Let the child choose what to eat however you can give healthy options and keep the options limited - for example, do you want a peanut butter sandwich or Gobi parantha?
