A. hiccups in children occur due to gas which is present in the stomach.
during the feeding process child takces air along with milk and that air goes inside the stomach which irritates leading to xhiccups.
you have to offer feeding as well as do proper burping(for atleast 20 minutes) to decrease this problem and it is a self limiting problem

A. hiccups are common in babies and not that baby is getting hiccups because of hunger
hiccups will stop on their own in some time
you can keep the baby in upright position and gently rub the baby back
you can give small feeds to stop hiccups
