Is 98.5 degree temperature is normal for 3 month baby...

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever .
Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks .
Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .
Lukewdhyarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever.
Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial.
Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. A baby's normal temperature can range from about 97 to 100.3 F. Most doctors consider a rectal temperature of 100.4 F or higher to be a fever. Take a few readings when your infant is well to get a sense of what their normal temperature is.
