A. If your son vomited shortly after taking the fever medicine, it's important not to immediately repeat the dose. Here's what you can do: 1. **Wait and Observe**: Give your son some time to settle after vomiting. Sometimes, vomiting can occur due to various reasons such as an upset stomach or the medicine not being well tolerated initially. 2. **Contact Your Pediatrician**: Contact your pediatrician or healthcare provider for advice. They can provide guidance on whether to administer another dose of the fever medicine or suggest alternative measures based on your son's condition and the specific medication prescribed. 3. **Monitor Temperature**: Keep an eye on your son's temperature. If the fever persists or increases, discuss with your pediatrician about other fever management strategies or whether another dose of medication is necessary. 4. **Hydration**: Ensure your son stays hydrated by offering frequent sips of water or oral rehydration solutions, especially if he has vomited. 5. **Follow Dosage Instructions**: When administering fever medicine in the future, ensure you follow the dosage instructions provided by your pediatrician or as indicated on the medication packaging. If vomiting occurs again, consult your healthcare provider for further advice. It's crucial to avoid giving another dose without consulting a healthcare professional, as overdosing can be harmful. Your pediatrician can provide the best advice tailored to your son's specific situation.
