hii dr my son is 5 yrs 1 month old. he is vety active child and eats whatever i gave to him but his weight growing very slowly and done all the test for him. he wss born as IUGR baby in the 27th week only 645 gms he wss in nicu for 3 months and his current weught 13.20 kg and height 99 cm. pls advise what shouod i do

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children2 years agoA. 5 year old boys can weigh around 18.3 kg but that is not a hard fast rule. Since the baby was prematyre he may not put on weight easily. And babys body type also has a role in it along with genetic factors. As long as the child is eating well, active and healthy you need not worry about his weight.
