Q.

Hi, till which month shall we pick/hold the baby by supporting his neck and head? He is 2 months 27 days and his head has become almost steady, so we were picking him up by his arms since few weeks.

A. neck holding of the child should be present by 4 months to maximum 5 months of age. regular massage of the back as well as the neck will help in strengthening the muscles of this area. if neck holding and head holding is not propxer by the end of 5 months it is important to meet the doctor for examination to fixnd the cause of delayed milestones

A. For initial six months where I would just say that for initial three months the head is very soft after that it starts becoming partially stable but it is advisable that up till age age of six months completion till the time you do not see a proper stability into the neck of your child you should hold it properly
