Q.

Hi, one of my cousin baby completes 9months in a week.. But she still doesn't sit on her own.. With pillow support she sits for few seconds and she falls down.. She sits only when we hold her.. Is it too late to be not sitting on her own?

A. Hi rashmi, thank you for your great response.. Some doctors here are saying that sitting can come after 1yr for some babies.. Is that true? What's your take on that? But i am really worried that she doesn't sit

A. sitting without support and crawling in children may sometimes come after one year of age also. if the growth of the child is proper no need to worry. just take care of regular diet and baby massage which will help in strengthening the muscles neededs for sitting and crawling. in some cases crawling may be absent in children and directly the child will begin to stand with support and later walk with ssupport and then without support. take a medical check up done to confirm if there is need of any intervention.

A. Yes I’m afraid to say so that there is a missing of milestone and that’s a big milestone that the child has missed because by the age of eight months a child should learn to sit independently here and you are saying even with the pillow the child falls down after sometime so that’s definitely a major problem you need to have any valuation with an expert as soon as you can
