A. Drink enough fluids each day. Otherwise you can be dehydrated which can lead to irritability, exhaustion, dizziness, and headaches. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated. Boost your immune system with fresh whole foods rich in Vitamin C such as bell peppers and citrus fruits, Vitamin A such as sweet potatoes, broccoli, kale, carrots, probiotics such as Greek yoghurt, Vitamin E such as almonds, spinach and avocado, Vitamin B6 such as chicken and sunflower seeds. Make sure that the baby is properly latched while breastfeeding. While breastfeeding, always begin with the painful breast. Massage, pump or hand express your breast first to help milk flow more easily for baby. Contact your doctor if the pain still persists.
