Apply Asafoetida daily on your child's chest and in the belly button after bath.
Also if you are doing massage then use mustard oil ( Heat the pan put some mustard oil in it when it is hot then put some carom seeds and 5-6 garlic sticks into it let it cook until this carom seeds turns black, once it is done wait for it to get cool then seive it and store) daily do the massage with this oil only in  winters. 
Steam with Vicks babyrub little bit in water.

Cough along with Cold and fever most of the time is a  viral illness or allergic and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration needs to be maintained. you can give steam inhalation which may be useful .
cough needs to be treated with medicine like anti allergic  expectorant bronchodilators antitussives or cough suppresents medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough and need.
In sttevere cough nebulisation can be given where medicine directly gets dilivered in the respiratory tract.
Also if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose is 15 mg/ kg body weight and can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
Home remedies like Tulsi & ginger mix in honey can be tried for soothing.

 Give nasal saline drops every few hourly to the child in the nasal cavity. try to prevent temperature variations around the child you can go for indirect steam inhalation which will again help in decreasing both cough and cold continue the regular diet of the child if there is s no improvement in few days then meet your doctor for fever and pain give paracetamol. anti-cold medicines at this age have got side effects so can be given only after medical consultation.
