Hi Dr My baby is having cold I visited the doctor just a suggestion can I use Vick's vapor rub for him he's 4 months 17 days old

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symfdptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs tog be maintained .

RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl3 years agoA. Back Side and feet that’s where you can use it not on the chest and no it’s not good or healthy to be used at that point of time because issues if you use them directly on to nose or chest
