HomeQuestions & AnswersHi Dr Ghouse. My babies are preterm twins (5 June 2021) . Mother's milk is not there only formula milk as per advice. My babies take almost 35-38 ounces a day. Doctor told me not to give more than 4 hours gap so I would wake my baby up and give feed. Sometimes my babies take 8-9 ounces in one feed.. They are active and digestion is normal. Sometimes projectile vomit they do.. They weight 5+ kg. I would like to know how much gap should be given in each feed and if they sleep for 6 hours without feeding is normal.. And my babies feeding is normal or not.

A. Hi See maybe your doctor has said that you should feed your child with a four hour gap or something but in practical approach as per a lot of paediatrician say they say that you should feed your child only on demand if your child is sleeping for longer durations of 6 to 8 hours also then you should let your child sleep because see how it is with us we don’t get hungry when we are sleeping my only wake up and then have it is the same thing with the child also so try not to disturb the sleep of the child if your child is sleeping that’s the right way to go about it I’m just telling you all of these things on the basis of my paediatricians consultation for my child
