Q.

Hi doctor, my son is having fever from last Saturday morning and fever got reduced from yesterday morning but he is complaining about body pains and also he us getting mild temperature every 6 hrs. he used to shivering and all. can you please tell me is it viral fever or any other fever.

A. yes its very much viral fever for fever as well as pain kindly give paracetamol according to the weight of child as well as according to the power of paracetamol medicine you are having and paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day and also do body sponge to decrease the surface temperature. also when u take temperature in the armpit of the child and it is 100 or more then only consider it as fever and give paracetamol. higher medicines for fever like ibugesic and mefenamic has to be given only after medical consultation. after giving fever medicines you can wait for maximum 3 days and then meet your doctor if it is not improving. keep the child in cool atmosphere
