Q.
Hi doctor,my baby is 23 days old she has cold from last night , gave nasal saline drops ...can I use any syrup or no needed..??

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part ofhj viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .

If The child is having blocked nose and nasal drops are good enough to go for but if your child is having a running nose along with blocked nose then you should definitely give a medicine after consulting your doctor otherwise it is going to be more irritating for your child
