Q.

Hi doctor, My baby boy is 17 months old. His weight is around 9 kg. Is it ok with his weight. He is not gaining weight . We are giving him breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner. Please suggest any alteration so that he can gain weight.

A. Hello mom check his weight as per his birth weight which tend to triple by the age of one year and then yearly they gain about 2 to 4 kgs .. if he was a preterm baby then they tend to gain weight on a slow pace as compared to full term baby . You can now give him regular foods made at home for the family no much restrictions for them now . You can give eggs , dry Fruits and nuts , whole grains and cereals , sago , Channa, rajma , horse gram , stuff paranthas, rice , millets , panner , milk , ghee
