Stimulating your breasts by expressing breast milk and offering the breast to your baby regularly can encourage your body to start making milk again. you stop breastfeeding quickly, your breasts might fill with milk (engorge) and get very uncomfortable. To prevent engorged breasts, you might need to express milk sometimes. Express just enough for comfort. If you express too much, it won't reduce your milk supply and weaning can take longer.Feed your baby from only one breast at each feed.Space feeds out — at least 2 ½ hours apart. At your next feed, change to your other breast.Continue this pattern for a few days. You might need to hand express a small amount from the unused breast to relieve pressure or discomfort.
