A. whenever there is confusion regarding the treatment given by your doctor and if you are not satisfied with the answers you can always take a second opinion of another doctor of the same field. weather a particular investigation or rtreatment is proper or not can be confirmed only after taking relevant history and doing proper examination of the child which will be done by the second doctor. r

A. Eyeglass prescriptions like -0.75 for the right eye and +0.50 for the left eye indicate a mild degree of refractive error: myopia (nearsightedness) in the right eye and hyperopia (farsightedness) in the left eye. These conditions are usually due to the shape of the eye and are not typically correctable with diet or medication. However, there are several important steps you can take to support your son's overall eye health: 1. **Corrective Lenses**: Follow the eye specialist's advice on whether your child needs glasses. Corrective lenses will help him see clearly and can prevent further strain on his eyes. 2. **Healthy Diet**: Ensure your son has a balanced diet rich in nutrients essential for eye health. Foods high in vitamins A, C, and E, as well as omega-3 fatty acids, zinc, and antioxidants, can support eye health. Examples include: - Leafy green vegetables (spinach, kale) - Carrots and sweet potatoes - Fish like salmon and tuna - Eggs - Nuts and seeds - Citrus fruits 3. **Regular Eye Check-ups**: Regular visits to the eye doctor can monitor any changes in vision and ensure timely adjustments to his prescription if needed. 4. **Limit Screen Time**: Excessive screen time can strain the eyes. Encourage breaks from screens and promote outdoor play, which has been shown to be beneficial for eye health. 5. **Eye Exercises**: Some eye exercises might help with eye strain and coordination, though they won't change the refractive error. Your eye doctor can advise if any exercises might be helpful. Unfortunately, while these steps support overall eye health, they won't alter the need for corrective lenses if there is a refractive error. For specific medical or therapeutic interventions, always consult your eye specialist.
