Q.

hello... my baby's weight is low according to her age means she is 6 month old and having 5 kg of weight. can I give her cerelac? will it help her in gaining her weight?

A. Weaning food can be started from 5-6 months of age and in that initially in the stage 1 you can introduce some semi solid food to the baby like Banana mango plum boiled Apple and then gradually you can start with some Puri of carrot potato other foods which can be given are porridge of suji e sabudana can be prepared in breast milk or formula milk. initially you can start with one or two tsp which can be graduallcy incrheased up till at least three meals in a day

A. Cereals are just an introductory food for the child it is not necessarily going to be there that your child is going to gain weight you just should start with proper semisolid food for the child if you try to have completed the age of six months cereals are just a part of that
