My baby is 9 months n 26 days. He was having cold. And cough since two weeks and I had given him TMinic and asthalin initially.. Then doctor added syrup rolcof. He was getting better slowly.. Almost cured.. Then suddenly on 19th evening his body temperature shoot up to 100+.. I consulted doctor and he gave me paracetamol and meftal.. Paracetamol I was giving 1.2ml and meftal 2.5ml..every 4 hours I used to give him paracetamol and in 8 hrs once meftal. But i dont find his fever going.. Soon after an hr or so his temperature reduces by 1 degree.. Temperature is going till 102.9 and after an hr to 101.. Why it's not going.. And when his fever will go pls suggest

Doctor my son got fever on 20 Jan evening sudden rise in temperature worried me a lot and I took him to hospital on the same night. Pediatrician asked me to give 1.2- 1.4 ml of paracetamol 100mg and meftal p suspension syrup if temperature is in 101 and above after giving paracetamol.. I had followed his instructions for 2 days and his temperature was very high till 103 and he used to get fever again within 2 hours and increased to 101 - 102. I had continuously gave cold compression.. Then I checked with my sister who's baby is 1 year old who Suffered the same symptomatic fever.. My son got rashes then in 2 days he got fever, he is 11.4kgs and my sister's daughter is 12kgs..so she said she had given 3ml of paracetamol syrup only and did not give meftal p and in 5 days her daughters fever reduced.. Then since yesterday I increased paracetamol to 2.5 ml. Of 100mg..his temperature is coming under control and he is getting fever after 6 hours only.. So i dont know if I should follow what I'm presently doing.. Pls advice

Doctor I'm giving paracetamol every 4 hours once and meftal every 6 hrs once.. What should be thebl ideal gap between these two. Medicines.. Also im giving paracetamol 1.2 ml and meftal 2.5ml

hello mommy this much medication is o k for now ..steam can also be given along with that . but if there is any respiratory difficulity then shoukd consult the doctor
