hello Dr I'm 5 weeks pregnant..I have severe cough cold and fever will that affect the fetus?I'm totally worried..and I take medication for cold fever and drink cough syrup for cough

A. no tit wont. Consultation with doctor personally , is required because examination of the baby is necessary to arrive on a conclusive diagnosis and prescribe accordingly. Maintain adequate hygiene to prevent risk of infection and stay safeOmicron variant is likely to be more infective and spread easily. Its symptoms are cough fatigue runny nose congestion. Children show predominantly upper respiratory tract infection likr fever, runny nose, throat pain, body ache , dry cough. It is recommended to wear a mask regardless of the vaccination status and maintain social distancing. use of sanitizer is recommended .
