Hello doctor my four month old baby has white patches on face.
I started seeing it just after two weeks after birth, when I showed it to the doctor, he said it was a birthmark, but it is still spreading on the baby's face. Does this look like a birthmark?

many times white spots can occur in children but does not require any treatment except moisturizing lotion application or simple coconut oil application. 
they will persist for few weeks and then will go away
if the problem continues beyond two weeks and is increasing in size and intensity t,hen you have to meet the doctor for evaluation.

some times it can be due to nutritional deficiency, skin sensitivizty, allergy, fungal infection (sometimes self limiting) also for which your doctor will prescribe specific cream.
